Stewart Gohringer joined the SAR+ team in 2019 following seven successful years with Perkins Eastman Architects in New York City. With his move across the country, Stewart aims to make an impact in the beautiful State of Colorado, applying lessons learned from the densest of American urban environments to the changing landscape of the Front Range.
With several years in a leadership role at his prior firm, Stewart brings to SAR+ important ideas around creative collaboration, designer education and training support, and a strong portfolio in the design of higher education spaces. His work experience, which ranges from new construction to renovations of well-loved mid-century modern buildings, will help SAR+ clients benefit from a broad array of options as they consider each of their projects’ paths. In addition to his higher education architectural work, Stewart also has a great depth of experience in the master planning of campuses. This planning work has covered entire university campuses as well as sites for individual schools.
No matter the assignment, Stewart’s work is notable for its high level of attention to detail, his emphasis on thoughtful programming, and a strong incorporation of environmentally-sensitive moves from glazing choices, to solar shading, to the utilization of renewable materials.
