The Grand is a luxury residential community completed in 2018 and located in Denver’s Central Platte Valley, adjacent to the city’s transit center, Union Station.
The design features two high-rise towers, with 508 residential apartments ranging from studios to 2-bedrooms, joined by a landscaped court and accessed through a common covered entry. The taller building, The Tower Residences, reaches 250’ in height and is surrounded by 140’ buildings, allowing nearly 360-degree views of Downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains for many of the residences. A rooftop pool deck and garden are located the at the top of this taller structure as well. The Plaza Residence tower reaches 140’ at the southern end of the site and feature separate amenities closer the activity of the adjacent light rail station.
The two towers express different identities; carefully considered glass and metal for the large portion, and well detailed masonry for the adjacent mass, enhancing what might otherwise be a large, monotonous block into smaller portions for the purposes of better urban integration. The project showcases rigor, restraint, and timelessness in design, while referencing the site’s industrial heritage.
This project is LEED Silver Certified.
