SAR+ is partnering with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science on the transformation and expansion of the museum’s iconic Gems & Minerals Hall into the new Dea Family Gems & Minerals Hall. This ambitious $30 million renovation reimagines one of the museum’s most beloved permanent exhibitions, expanding the hall by 50% and creating an immersive, multi-sensory experience that transports visitors into underground cave and mining environments inspired by the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.

Guided by the theme “My World is Made of Minerals,” the redesigned exhibition explores the critical role minerals play in everyday life through immersive storytelling, interactive technology, and dynamic educational experiences. The project preserves beloved historic elements of the original hall while introducing new exhibit environments, interactive displays, and expanded collections that celebrate Colorado’s rich geological heritage and the relationship between humans and the natural world. Planned to reopen in 2027, the renovated hall will offer visitors an engaging, sensory-driven journey through science, discovery, and wonder
