Flour Mill
Denver, ColoradoThis historic building, “The Pride of the Rockies Flour Mill”, is one of few remaining industrial buildings in the Central Platte Valley and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The adaptive re-use and new addition was the first residential “high rise” loft project in the Central Platte Valley. The addition references an adjacent pre-existing brick building that had burned in the 1920’s, which mimics – but is appropriately separated from – the historic mill while providing a taller yet compatible structure. Residences are classic loft spaces with high ceilings and large industrial window openings. These two structures together form the backdrop and edge to Cuernavaca Park to the West.
