Welborn House
Denver, Colorado
The Welborn house has been assessed for its historic value, as it is a turn-of-the century farm-house that was owned by a prominent family in Denver. The Welborn’s gifted their house and associated 90 acres to Colorado Academy in 1954 – the campus and school have evolved around the House over the past sixty years, but the house remained untouched (and largely un-maintained). SAR+’s challenge on this project was to repair, where needed, and to create an addition that appeared as though it was always there.
