The micro-units required especially strategic thinking. “We enjoyed the challenge of how to make a small space, full of built-in cabinetry and furniture, feel spacious,” explains Ali Joiner, architect and associate at SAR+. “Large windows bring in a lot of natural light, so the outdoors feel like an extension of one’s interior space; and built-in furniture, like a bed, wardrobe, and desk, makes the unit move-in ready with minimal additional furniture needs.”
