Woodworks Case Study: The Village at Mines Park
SAR+’s Matthew Breen recently participated in a new WoodWorks case study highlighting The Village at Mines Park, a mass timber student housing community completed last summer for the Colorado School of Mines. The project brings more than 650 beds and a new community-focused amenity hub to campus, while showcasing the potential of sustainable, high-performance mass timber construction.
“As designers, we’re always looking for ways to create spaces that feel warm, healthy, and connected to their environment,” said Breen. “Mass timber gave us the opportunity to do that in a way that also meaningfully reduced the project’s environmental impact.”
