Warren Village III is a permanent supportive housing campus located in southwest Denver’s Athmar Park neighborhood. The project will house 89 single parents and their families who are currently experiencing homelessness. Warren Village III will provide them with onsite childcare, after school activities, adult education, and supportive services to help stabilize their families’ future. The project consists of two buildings that have been designed as a campus around a central pedestrian connection and gathering space between both buildings. Each building’s design uniquely responds to its campus connection and its immediate context so they can blend into the existing neighborhood while also providing a unique identity for the residents to identify with. Trauma informed design principals have been deployed as a strategy to help craft a sense of identity, comfort and health for the future residents and staff throughout the buildings from creating a sense of home in the residential units to providing a sense of safety and connection in the common areas.
