We are thrilled to share the news of five well-deserved promotions – Allison Brandt’s elevation to the role of Senior Associate and Henry Bestor, Maria Simon, Dan Raznick and Avik Guha to Associate. As valued team members at SAR+, all of these individuals are being recognized for their exceptional dedication and tireless efforts in enhancing our firm and the projects they work on. Their countless achievements are a testament to their hard work and commitment, and we look forward to witnessing their continued success as leaders here at SAR+.

 

Allison Brandt | Senior Associate

Allison joined SAR+ in the fall of 2020, bringing with her an optimism and creative energy that  continue to enhance the firm’s work and culture. With an extensive background in commercial office, mixed-use, and higher education projects, she’s been a key player in helping SAR+ expand into these sectors while broadening her expertise in the residential market and working on complex projects at a variety of scales.

Known for her excellent project management skills and a keen focus on client communication, Allison also has a sharp business sense that ensures the smooth execution of her projects.

Currently, she is leading several major endeavors, including an affordable housing development in Jackson, Wyoming and transformative planning efforts in Winter Park. Her expertise in entitlements, documentation, and consultant coordination makes her a go-to resource for the team, and she values creating connection and forming experiences through design.

Henry Bestor, AIA, LEED AP BD+C | Associate

Henry joined SAR+ in 2022 with a deep passion for urban planning and city design. He has worked primarily in the urban context, in both Chicago and Denver, on a wide range of projects. Henry began his career in Chicago working on multifamily and hotel/hospitality projects within and adjacent to the Chicago Loop  including adaptive reuse and historic preservation projects on Landmark buildings. Upon relocating to Denver, Henry has diversified the project types he has worked on, working on projects ranging from K-12 education, higher education,  mass timber office , as well as continuing to work on many projects in the hospitality and multifamily types. The common thread in most of this work has been urban infill projects rooted in how these projects serve the broader context.

Henry has  contributed to project teams in all phases of design and documentation from concept and entitlements to construction  documents and administration. He is familiar with many different construction typologies including mass timber, panelized wall systems, and prefabricated construction. Henry is passionate about  applying the principles of urban theory and placemaking learned through his time in graduate and professional work to his future career efforts at SAR+.

Maria Simon, WELL AP | Associate

Maria Simon joined SAR+ in 2021 bringing with her diverse experience working on a variety of building typologies in domestic and international locales. She developed an interest in mission driven work based on her experience working on the site and architectural bids for the Obama Presidential Center in Honolulu and Chicago, respectively. Her experience managing and advising this work helped craft her passion for designing projects that serve the community through civic, education, housing, and health-based projects. At SAR+ Maria holds a design and management role on a variety of projects from affordable housing to school projects.

Outside of practice, Maria actively participates in academics. She previously taught at Lawrence Tech University, the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Portland State University. Most recently Maria taught a studio at the University of Colorado Denver.

Dan Raznick, AIA, LEED AP BD+C | Associate

Dan is an architect with experience designing and coordinating all phases of design and construction services. He has held key roles and collaborated on numerous large-scale, international mixed-use, corporate, commercial, and residential developments.

Prior to joining SAR+ in 2021, Danwas an architect with Pickard Chilton in New Haven, Connecticut. He is a US Green Building Council LEED-Accredited Professional. He received both his Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Minnesota. He was the recipient of the American Institute of Architects’ Henry Adams Medal which is awarded to the top-ranking graduating student in each architecture program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board.

Avik K. Guha, AIA, NCARB, NOMA, CDT, LEED Green Assoc. | Associate 

Avik Guha joined SAR+ in 2022 bringing a diverse experience working on a variety of building typologies ranging from civic, government, restaurant, retail, and university projects. His organization and personability allow him to lead cohesive teams, while his communication allows him to maintain strong client relationships. He has gained technical design experience by developing a wide range of civic and government projects with local and national entities in the United States and Canada.

Avik is heavily involved in the Architectural community and has volunteered in over a dozen roles with AIA, NCARB, and other organizations on a local and national level. He currently serves as an Architect member on the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. At SAR+ he enjoys the social aspects of our culture, helping plan events, documenting office hijinks, and making waffles.
